This stone is dedicated to the story of the Greater spotted eagle:
Spread the word and move the stone!
The greater spotted eagle has a dark brown plumage as an adult animal, with a whitish spot in the shape of a crescent moon at the bottom.The eagle is a quirky hunter of, among others, small mammals and reptiles. They are gripped by diving with a glide flight from a hundred meters on the animal. On ducks and coots he hunts by separating one animal from the rest of the pack and regularly attacking it, as a result of which the water bird has to go into hiding underwater. At a certain moment the animal gets so tired that it can be plucked from the water surface without resistance.
The greater spotted eagle is vulnerable species that appears a.o. in Spain. Via this stone I want to give this beautiful bird extra attention.”
This stone started travelling on 2019-05-12.
Besides the travelling stones, there are also “resting stones” with stories, placed on the trail. Together all these stones form the international art routes.
