Caminostones

You found a traveling stone!

Part of an inspiring artproject with travelling miniatures and art on the walking trails.

These unique painted stones travel around the world. Every travelling stone carries its own story or message, of a participant or about the trail. Here you find info about this project.
Below the story of this stone, location yourney and meetings with hikers.

The miniature, location and message.

This stone is for the story of the Puente Romano:

“Puente Romano is Spanish for: Roman Bridge. The longest Roman bridge in existence today is this one, found in Mérida. The bridge over the river Guadiana is 790 metres long in total and has 60 arches!
At present, the bridge is only used by pedestrians.
In Mérida, you will find more unusual structures, including a Moorish defensive structure, an aqueduct and another Roman bridge.”

This stone started travelling on 2021-11-05.

Caminostones exists since 2015, in different shapes and forms on many (inter)national walking trails.

Did you take the travelling stone? And do you want to leave it on a new location, so it can continue it’s journey? Click here.

This artproject wants to pleasantly surprise hikers through stories and miniature art. A second goal is to initiate a new form of connection and awareness, through art and social media. The participant and I are looking forward to your response on this stone story!
